So...good trip so far?
I think yes.
Yesterday we went to the Salamanca markets, which was pretty impressive! They went on forever... I bought a little Tassie devil soft toy, which is becoming our mascot for the trip. He got drunk last night over dinner - on Tim's beer.
We walked around a lot in the evening too, and all sat around big tables outside a pub for $5 meals.
Today we went over to MONA - which was amazing...... Oh wow.
I have never seen so much awesome art in one place in my life. It was all really out there and crazy, and I love that kind of stuff.
Half of us didn't have lunch there coz it was pretty expensive, so by the time we left at 3pm we were all pretty hungry!! So we walked around and found some places that were still open on a Sunday afternoon, and sat around in our backpackers dining room....and have been there every since!
Now we're planning to go to Wollies to buy some dinner.
On to Port Arthur tomorrow - yay!!! Firstly a dawn walk to the top of Mt Wellington...leaving at 5.45am...
Early night then?

One day to go!
In 24 hours time, we'll be arriving in Hobart.
But I've got a lot of packing to get through before then, so I'll make this short.
I wanted to create my own blog for this trip, so I can record it all as it happens. I was initially going to keep a journal, but I decided this would be better. It's actually easier, and this way people at home can keep up with our progress :)
We have to be at Canberra airport at 5.15am tomorrow....
Can't say I'm looking forward to that!
However, the rest of the trip should be totally worth it - great scenery, great food, and great company! What more could 15 students and 3 teachers want? :)
